It is official Australia is next to Mars
So after a 14 hour flight we arrived in Sydney. Supposed to be their spring time and it is raining and freezing. Oh no i packed all summer clothes. I feel like i have fallen off Earth, as Australia is just so far away. Good news my bridesmaid dress fits and doesn't need my Mum to take it up as i brought with me my highest shoes. Might be a bit uncomfortable to wear all day but at least the dress will stay off the floor, oh it is long by the way and all black, very nice. Spent a nice day in Sydney with my producer John Hudson as he has now moved there to live from the UK. Went for lunch to the fish market, brilliant place, i would live on fish if i lived close by. His wife Kate unfortunately has been very sick and therefore we didn't get to spend time with her but hoping to go to Sydney for the day again before we go back home and spend time with her. We went out to dinner and Leo Sayer stopped by to say hello. He was a huge singing star in the 70's and it was amazing to get to meet him in person and hear some of the stories, he is currently working with John on his next album. My Nan arrived from the UK and we are so excited she came to the wedding as that is a very long way and she went via Korea, over 30 hours traveling. The minute she arrived there was chocolate all over the kitchen counter tops, that is why we call her Nanny Chocolate.
The wedding was amazing and everyone looked wonderful. It was still freezing but we managed to smile for the photos which were outside. The reception was fun, fun, fun and i made a new friend Keagan and we danced all night long. Jodie and Mitch left the next day for their honeymoon in Vegas, surely going to be a bit warmer. It was so moving to have a dance with my Uncle Steve, as 2 years ago he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and he came through all the radiation and chemo treatment and we are so blessed he is still with us today to share this special wedding of his daughter Jodie and to see all his grandchildren, which have grown by another 2 this year.
Back to Sydney and had dinner with Kate and John this time, walked around the stores in Sydney. The harbor is beautiful and the opera house just stunning. Mum and I took the train, which took 45 minutes but showed us all the towns on the way. Time goes too fast and we will be leaving Australia in 2 days but looking forward to being in LA for a few days and then home to Austin.
Catch up with you all soon when i am US side. Georgia XOX
